Katherine K. ellis is a writer + dreamer based in Washington D.C.
Katherine K. Ellis
is a University of Utah grad who studied journalism, marketing and public relations. Through the pursuit of her passion for writing she found herself working at The Daily Utah Chronicle for four years, her final year as editor-in-chief, interning with the American Copy Editors Society, Bloglovin', USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin and most recently, NPR's Next Generation Radio.
While most of her experience has been in writing and editing, she studied photography and video production in Genova, Italy, with the Genova Liguria Film Commission summer of 2015.
Now, Katherine is a Program Associate focusing primarily on diversity initiatives and marketing outreach for the American Press Institute.
When she’s not pitching stories to local online and printed publications, you can find her making one second a day videos, blogging about her travels, adding clips to her portfolio, taking photos, exploring, scribbling in her journal, obsessing over her cat Winston, or curled up with a good book. She likes her sugar with a little bit of coffee and her burritos smothered.
Ask her about art, the Vietnam War, the best place in town for pho and especially race: it's her bread, butter & jam.
