The American Press Institute held a Thought Leader Summit on newsroom listening and dialogue projects on March 27 in Nashville, TN. This summit gathered community-minded journalists, editors and nonprofit leaders who are pioneers of listening and dialogue projects in journalism. I put together this video to show what goes on behind the scenes of APi’s famous invitation-only summits.
I also curated and managed content on our social platforms daily, from the initial planning stage to the creation of videos, photos and shareable cards. It was my responsibility to transform the in-depth reports we publish into digestible ideas on whichever platform told the story best.
In my first month I produced & edited a video and designed social assets for the launch of betternews.org. I also planned and managed the promotional campaign and sent out a monthly newsletter announcing updates to the site.
A few months into my job, I implemented a new tactic to help APi's audience (journalists, newsrooms) better understand what we're doing out in the journalism world when we travel and openly promote the different facets of our company. We call it: API Field Notes. I met my goal of increasing page views on our site by 60% within one month after promoting our Field Notes.
