art + fashion

I've been fortunate enough to be able to write about things I'm passionate about and during my time as Arts & Entertainment Editor I was able to create and maintain a relationship with the Utah Museum of Fine Arts on campus.

I covered several exhibit openings at the UMFA in addition to writing about the annual Utah Arts Festival in downtown Salt Lake and events at the Natural History Museum of Utah.

As a fashion junkie with a shoe collection that borders on obsession, it's safe to say that writing about clothes, style and the perfect pair of pumps is something I can get behind.

I wrote for Bloglovin's - The Edit as a content creation intern and was able to kick-start a series of fashion features at the Daily Utah Chronicle during my time as Arts & Entertainment Editor.

Finding a place

In the Hindu religion it is believed that one’s soul passes through a cycle of lives, one right after another (samsara). The next life you lead is determined by the actions of the previous one (karma). In one lifetime, people build both good and bad karma that will continually affect their future lives and existences.

The Daily Utah Chronicle wins six UPA awards

Apart from a byline, journalists rarely receive outside recognition for work they’ve done and on the rare occasion we are actually contacted about a published story, 8 times out of 10 it’s a complaint about the content or how someone was quoted. Most of the time we’re totally okay with remaining unseen and unacknowledged in order to tell stories as objectively as possible, but once a year, the Utah Press Association pulls us out from behind our desks to honor outstanding journalism in Utah.
