A few months into my job, I implemented a new tactic to help APi's audience (journalists and newsrooms) better understand APi’s efforts out in the journalism world. I called it: API Field Notes. I met my goal of increasing page views on our site by 60% within one month after promoting our Field Notes. Whether I was sending out a press release or one of our three weekly newsletters, I worked from high-level concepts to the last fine print, leveraging themes, seasonal events, relevant news or pop culture to speak directly to our desired audience. Most of my time was spent copy writing and editing, as well as rethinking email fundraising.
